Mayor Cal Patterson says a Swiss Chalet is coming to Wasaga Beach.

Hamount Investments vice president and general manager Mark Crowe confirmed Monday that a Swiss Chalet restaurant is on the books and scheduled to open in the spring of 2009 within the Stonebridge By the Bay development on Main Street.

He said the restaurant will be 4,000 square feet but will not have a drive-through component.

The restaurant has been high on the wish list of Wasaga Beach residents for several years.

Crowe also confirmed a Harvey's restaurant, complete with drive-through, will open in the fall of 2008 in a 2,200-square-foot building and a combination KFC and Taco Bell will be open this summer in a 18,090-square-foot freestanding building.

Crowe said work on all the structures will begin this year.
