Videoconferencing excites SuiteWorks team

New capability adds to Barrie firm's growing suite of conference tools - Video conferencing is a state-of-the-art technology allowing participants in multiple locations to interact with all the benefits of a full audio-visual connection and shared multi-media presentation capabilities.

It is also the latest service being offered to clients by SuiteWorks, Barrie's high-tech office space and meeting facility, located on 92 Caplan Avenue in the city's south end.

"We're very excited about the launch of our video conferencing product," says sales director Patrick Garrity. "It's the latest product that's been added to our suite of meeting tools."

This capability adds to the leading-edge systems that were already in place, including web conferencing, SmartBoard whiteboard technology, laptop projectors and multiple Internet connectivity, including wireless.

The two main meeting rooms, that joined together to accommodate up to 80 people in a theatre-style configuration, also boast DVD and VCR players and monitors, overhead presentation systems, a full-sized projection screen and a document camera and projector, for displaying hard copies on screen.

Although the technology is complicated, the system is extraordinarily user-friendly employing a single multi-function remote unit. Technical training and event on-call technical support is also available.

The more traditional lower-tech options of white boards, flip charts and markers are available too.

To round out the experience, full-service catering, administrative assistance and professional facilitation services can be arranged, as needed.

Video conferencing, with its inherent time, travel and cost savings, also speaks to the increasing desire by companies to provide a healthier work-life balance for their employees.

Not only are employees not taken out of the field with productivity lost on travel time, says Garrity, they don't have to leave their homes for days on end.

This also speaks to a core value for SuiteWorks, which was founded in 2003 by John Cameron and George Horbota to answer the "need for work programs that are capable of balancing corporate objectives with employee productivity, satisfaction and retention."

The modular-style office space is flexible and scalable enough to meet the needs of a single individual working remotely for a large company, or an entire regional or branch office.

Clients currently using the facilities in such a way include representatives from high-tech companies, insurance firms, financial professionals and human-resources recruiters, says Garrity.

With a full range of options in hardware, communications equipment, administrative and technical support, security and meeting rooms available on a part-time or full-service, full-time basis, SuiteWorks is also suitable for businesses of all sizes and in all stages of development.

"We have businesses that start out as one or two people, and as they grow - because of the way our space is set up - SuiteWorks is there," says Garrity.

The demand for the unique services being offered by SuiteWorks are increasing as people become educated, he adds.

"People are realizing what we have available, and now that people are starting to know that we're here, (they) are starting to embrace the fact that there is a high-tech facility in the region that offers the services that we do and daily they are taking advantage of it."
