October was the best month in more than a year for Honda of Canada, when comparing year-over-year sales, according to the executive vice president.
In October, Honda of Canada Inc. sold a total 11,303 units in its Honda and Acura divisions. Acura sales, 2,079 units, were up 80 per cent from October 2008, while the Honda division sales, 9,224 units, was down 10 per cent.
"This is the best month we have experienced in more than year, when comparing year-over-year sales," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda of Canada Inc. "It further reinforces that the recovery in consumer confidence we are all hearing about is actually happening in our dealership showrooms."
At its Alliston plants, Honda of Canada manufactures the Honda Civic, Acura CSX sedan MDX and four-cylinder engines. The new Acura ZDX, a crossover utility vehicle, was also recently added to the local production line.
