The Clearview Economic Development Committee (EDC) and Clearview Township council will host a networking session for local business people next Wednesday.

Dubbed the Clearview Business Exchange, the session will take place at Batteaux Creek Golf Club on the east side of Cty. Rd. 124, between Nottawa and Duntroon.

"The critical focus of this first-ever Clearview Business Exchange is economic development," Mayor Ken Ferguson said in a letter to invitees, later adding that, "council and the EDC...want your views and input on how to enhance the business climate in Clearview."

Ferguson said that township and EDC officials hope the forum will be the first in a series.

"Economic development is the administration's top priority and we know there is much work to be done," he said. "We thought it made sense to begin with a social occasion, without a speaker or formal agenda, to provide...an opportunity to mingle with other business leaders in our community."

Prior to the session, which starts at 5 p.m., the township is offering invitees the chance to play - at their own expense - nine holes of golf, starting at 3 p.m. A complimentary dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
