Employees at Saint-Gobain’s Midland plant joined 207,000 co-workers around the world to mark Saint-Gobain’s third International Environment, Health & Safety Day.

The aim of the event, which took place in all 54 countries in which Saint-Gobain has locations, was to reemphasize the importance of the environment, health and safety in the workplace.

“This day is a great opportunity for us to come together as part of the Saint-Gobain community and reaffirm our collective commitment to safeguarding ourselves, our colleagues and our environment,” said Midland’s plant manager Joe Syed.

Saint-Gobain is a global manufacturer and distributor of construction products, glass containers and innovative materials. Founded in 1665 and headquartered in Paris, Saint-Gobain had worldwide sales of $59 billion in 2007 and employs approximately 207,000 people.

The company has 330 locations in North America employing more than 25,000 people.
