A Midland mother-and-son accounting team has made the cover of one of the profession’s top trade magazines.
Anderson & Anderson Certified General Accountants is featured in the October/November issue of the accounting and finance professional magazine Statements.
An article titled All in the Family describes the growth of the King Street accounting, tax and consulting firm.
Charlene Anderson, who started the firm in 1995, said being featured in the trade magazine was an exciting opportunity.
“We were quite pleased. No advertising ever hurts…. CGA accountants are in all kinds of industry, so certainly there are going to be people reading it,” she said. “Getting our story out there is always good. The fact that they picked us out of a few hundred practitioners from across the province is an honour.”
Anderson & Anderson was chosen for the feature due to its interesting story of being a successful mother-and-son accounting team, she noted.
David Anderson acknowledged being part of the publication made him “proud.”
“I think it will give us a bit of exposure provincially. We’ve produced a web-based accounting software package that’s mentioned in the article that hopefully will get a bit of exposure now,” he said. “We were definitely surprised and pleased.”
The magazine has a circulation of 25,000 and is read by certified general accountants, students in the CGA program of professional studies, and stakeholders in the profession, including government and private-sector institutions.
